Went here with a group of friends. Very extensive menu. Prices are average. Parking is off street. Bit of a walk from marrickville station. Service if friendly but English not so good. They got our orders mixed up. Service was slow. My meal was nothing to write home about, just the average veggie with bean curd. Others had sizzling pork, Vietnamese pancake, Carmel pork. A review on the Carmel pork from my friend was excellent. I would come back here but it is just another Vietnamese restaurant.

Only reason I ate here tonight was because Tra Mi next door is closed for the holidays.
I might be biased but I don't think their Pho Bo holds up to Tra Mi's - the broth is not as flavoursome and the slivers of beef are too thick.
The chicken pho my friend had wasn't up to scratch either - I think we'll both venture next door when we're in the mood again for cheap Vietnamese! -

Yuuuummmmm! I love finding places like this: the tacky tiles, the cheap looking menus that go on forever, and the friendly staff with whom I can barely converse. And of course, the exceptionally tasty food! Try a pho, or one of the other thousand soups on the menu - they're fantastic - though I've only tasted a few. How about deep fried quail... mmm... How about dinner for two for less than a 20?
Take-away from here, or eat in if you're that way inclined. Awesome. -

I seriously love this place.
Marrickville has some great Vietnamese restaurants. I've tried a few, but for super tasty, super cheap and super quick take away I keep craving Huong Giang. I've never actually "eaten in" here. I love getting my bags and bags of separate containers filled with salads, sauces, meats, noodles, broths, lemon wedges and salts. Taking them home, opening all the little containers and assembling your dishes is like Christmas!
I can never go past the Bun Bo Hue Dac Biet; a super hot and spicy noodle soup filled with pork, beef, blood jelly and mystery meat (as Anthony Bourdain so perfectly puts it). Sounds horrific but good lord it's addictive. This dish sets me back $10. But of course my eyes are bigger than my stomach so I grab a serve of their crispy salt quail ($12)... quite possibly one of the best things I have ever eaten in my life!
The lemongrass pork is fantastic. Their rice paper rolls and Pho are also delish. I honestly don't think you can choose a bad dish at this place. Most dishes are around the $10 mark and MASSIVE. Reminiscing is making me hungry....
